Angela Santese

Angela Santese è ricercatrice a tempo determinato tipo b (senior) in Storia e Istituzioni delle Americhe presso l’Università di Bologna.

Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in Politica, Istituzioni, Storia presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali, dove insegna US Foreign Policy since 1945 e storia internazionale dell’età contemporanea. È stata junior visiting scholar presso il Woodrow Wilson International Center di Washington, DC, assegnataria del postgraduate Vibeke Sorensen grant degli Archivi Storici dell’Unione Europea e del travel grant del Center for the United States and the Cold War (New York University). Ha vinto il premio “SISSCO opera prima 2017” per la miglior monografia di ricerca con il volume “La pace atomica. Ronald Reagan e il movimento antinucleare (1979-1987), Le Monnier, 2016”.

Iscritta a diverse associazioni accademiche italiane (SISSCO, SISI, AISNA), è membro della redazione di “Ricerche di Storia Politica” e co-editor in chief della rivista “USAbroad. Journal of American History and Politics”.

Angela Santese is senior assistant professor of History and Institutions of the Americas at the University of Bologna. She teaches History of US Foreign Policy and International History. In 2012 she was junior visiting scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center of Washington, DC. She won the SISSCO Prize awarded by Italian Society for the Study of Contemporary History for the best 2016 research monograph. In 2017 she won the Postgraduate Vibeke Sorensen Grant from the Historical Archives of the European Union. Her research interests deal with U.S. foreign policy, Cold War history and the history of antinuclear and environmental movements. Member of various Italian academic associations (SISSCO, SISI, AISNA), she is a member of the editorial team of “Ricerche di Storia Politica” and co-editor in chief of the “USAbroad. Journal of American History and Politics”.
